Comments, Questions, and Feedback:
So, what's this blog all about? Well, I hope it will be a place to share and ask questions about massage sessions with me or the work that I do. I encourage your feedback, it will only help me grow as a therapist and help others see how unique each experience is. I'm not quite sure how to describe what Adriene does, exactly, so I'll just say I believe she is a healer. Using her thorough knowledge of human physiology and kinesiology -- body mechanics -- and her God-given anointing as a conduit for the flow of healing she touches gently and the body corrects itself.
I've had massages before from some very skilled practioners, but Adriene did something different... something subtle... something almost magical in simplicity yet astoundingly complex in outcome. I am by nature pretty skeptical, and not into touchy-feely things of a borderline new-age nature, but this was not at alal like that. I attribute it to a GIFT from God, a supernatural empowerment for natural healing.
I have been struggling with herniated discs for over twenty years. I assumed it was an issue I would have to deal with for the rest of my life. The condition changed how I approached life. I was always hesitant to participate in activities because I knew I would be in tremendous pain or incapacitated the next day or for many days that followed. Many times I was reliant on medication or sheer will just to get out of bed.
Over the past two decades, I have seen numerous massage therapists and on more than one occasion I have left the spa walking in a 90 degree angle. Many times I have had massage therapists use their elbows and/or their entire body weight on my spasmed muscle to try and get it to release and relax. Needless to say, that approach never worked.
Although reluctant to see another massage therapist, on the recommendation of a dear friend, I saw Adriene. She will be the only massage therapist I ever see. With her subtle touch, ability and knowledge of the human body she was able to release my muscles and give me the relief I have not had for decades. It has been over a year since I flew her to Miami to work on me and I have not had any spasms since. I was so thrilled with the results, I flew her to Orlando to work on my father. She was able to give him some much needed relief. And while he requires more work, I intend to fly Adriene to see my father as soon as her schedule allows.
There is no doubt in my mind that Adriene was born to be a healer. She is an excellent holistic body worker and always learning new techniques which she then incorporates in her sessions to give the personalized treatment one needs. She is blessed with incredible intuition knowing exactly where to place her hands and which acupressure points to activate in order to release the pain or a block. I had several sessions with Adriene and would definitely come to her on a regular basis if it were not for the fact that I live in California.
I came in for a Cranio-Sacral treatment and was not sure what to expect as it was my very first of that kind. She scanned my body with her hands while I was slowly drifting into a serene semi-sleep state, then started working on my stomach area right away. First I felt energy moving inside of me (like waves - going back and forth) and then a part of it being stirred and lifted out of me, which gave me an instant release. I felt weightless as my revitalized energy was washing over me. Adriene definitely helped me to release a lot of unwanted and stagnant energy blocks and untangle the knots in my energy field that I didn’t even know were there! Just recently she worked on my stomach again as I thought I suffer from some indigestion, but it turned out that my esophagus is too tight due to my improper breathing. She helped me to breathe right and within minutes I felt my chest opening as my ribs actually started moving with every breath and the quiziness in my stomach settled. Adriene also worked on a very painful heel of my foot a while ago. It took only few minutes of calf massage and one particular pressure point on the calf that sent sparks down to my foot to release the pain I struggled with for a long time, the pain never came back!
Every session with Adriene was a healing experience, she is a very accommodating and genuine practitioner with a magic touch and I feel totally safe in her hands and her working in my energy field. She believes in what she does and puts her heart to give the best she can which makes her unique and exceptionally gifted in a selfless and humble way.
Adriene's ability to gently relieve tension, stress and pain is a gift. She is passionate about what she does. It is not just a job to her. She worked on raditating pain in my hips and legs in July of 2011. It is September and the pain has not returned. You will be hard pressed to meet any who is as dedicated to her craft as Adriene. More importantly than any of amazing healing skills she has, if you count yourself lucky enough to call her friend...well you already know how lucky you are.
Brought my 12 year-old daughter to see Adriene in June after SEVERAL visits to the pediatrician and a neurologist to deal with debilitating headaches she had suffered with for many months. Daughter had fractured her skull two years earlier and I attributed her headaches to this injury. After treating daughter for a few minutes, Adreine asked if she had had any injury to her collar bone. Yes, she had broken her clavical at the same time as the skull fracture! I had forgotten about that injury as it took second billing to the skull fracture. Adriene discovered that daughter was having intense muscle tension headaches, probably as a result of these injuries. Daughter has received so much relief from these headaches since we started seeing Adriene. She hardly has a headache now and when she does, she typically recovers fairly quickly. Last week, daughter turned her ankle. She was in tremendous pain. Went to see Adriene after seeing a doc who said she had a sprain. Adriene assessed the injury and determined it was a strain. She worked on the site for about 20 minutes and the pain left, never to return again. Adriene has worked miracles for my daughter- I cannot begin to thank her enough for helping daughter. Husband and I are forever grateful for her kindness to our daughter and for her healing touch!

For four years I have suffered with chronic pain. After four years, fifteen doctors, and two epidurals my first real relief was through Adriene's extraordinary touch.
God has not only given her an exceptional gift of healing, but also a caring heart that works overtime for each of her clients.

My wife and I met Adriene at the Esalen Institute while we were all taking a yoga workshop. During the workshop, I managed to pull a mysterious combination of muscles in my chest. Adriene was kind enough to work on the messy problem and magically relieved my suffering quite a bit. She warned that the pain would get worse at night and then begin to subside quickly, which is exactly what happened.
Adriene's treatment was very gentle and clearly based on a deep understanding of physiology and energy flows. As she worked, she kept explaining what was going on and what she thought the injury was. Since I was quite concerned that I had suffered a major, long-lasting injury, knowing what was happening was really helpful.
Without Adriene's healing touch the rest of my trip and going back to work would have almost certainly been quite painful. I would highly recommend Adriene to anyone with any type of pain, injury or discomfort.
Adriene is amazing and has helped me with various issues over the past 2 years. She has also been excellent with my son who is 12. Recently he had a leg muscle injury resulting from a Lacrosse practice and was unable to run. After 2 weeks of doctor/specialist visits with several different medicines that didn't help we called on Adriene. I called her on Saturday afternoon when she was getting ready to leave town. She asked several questions and remembered my son from previous sessions from football injuries. She stayed in town and gave us an appointment later that day. We left her salon pain free, running at full strength and ready to get back to practice after 2 weeks of pain. AMAZING to say the least. I totally trust her with myself and any problem my children have. We plan on bringing our son back on a regular basis during this lacrosse season as a preventative measure against injuries. Give her as try, I'm sure you will also be amazed at her work, knowledge, professionalism and her results.

Adriene was a life saver to me!! After seeing orthopedic doctors and getting epidurals that did not last, a friend sent me to Adriene. She is amazing!! on my first trip to see her, with her amazing hands an knowledge. She put her hands on the spot that was radiating the pain...I walked out dancing. the pain was gone and lasted for several weeks. I have gone back many times and each time she fixes something that prolongs my relief!!! I recommend her to everyone who will listen. She is a true Angel and brilliant, professional, and my dear friend. Give her a try I know you will be amazed at the relief you will receive.
Adriene is nothing short of phenomanal. I've never had anyone find pain sources with such accuracy and intuition. She can get to the root of the problem with astonishing insight. I feel amazing after a treatment. The pain disappears. I can't recommend her highly enough.
